Measuring and Ordering Shutters or Doors

The items you have seen in our product lists show traditional design and traditional specifications of shutters and doors. We can manufacture shutters and doors that compliment any architectural design. If you would like to order a product with different stile (vertical) and rail (horizontal) dimensions, please fill in the measurements on the provided diagram for each opening that you need an estimate.

If you are duplicating an existing shutter you may send the shutter to us as a sample to work from or provide photographs or drawings. Our address is:

We suggest that you plan at least one season ahead from the time you would like to see our product on your property. Our lead time typically ranges from 8-12 weeks depending on the demand and the kind of custom work we are doing. Please plan ahead.

Collection of information for exterior shutters:

1. Decide the style of shutter you prefer from product list, louver or panel

2. Decide on the stile, top/center/bottom rail widths if different than in our product list

3. Decide on the width of the louver

4. Decide if exterior window shutters will be working shutters and need a closure detail

5. Decide on hardware

6. Measure window widths and heights for each window

7. Decide on how many windows you will be furnishing

8. Decide on color

9. Provide pictures, plans, or existing shutter as an example

 

 Collection of information for interiors shutters:

1. Decide on style, whether louver or panel

2. Decide on how many panels in each window

3. Decide on the stile, top/center/bottom rail widths if different than in our product list

4. Decide the width of the louver

5. Decide if shutters will be inside or outside mount

6. Decide on the stock material you will be using

7. Decide if they will be double hung

8. Measure your window widths and heights for each window

9. Decide how many windows you will be furnishing

10       Decide whether they will be painted or stained

11.      Provide pictures, plans, or existing shutter as an example.
